The contemporary vending machine at the Berry Bounty Farms on Chilliwack Central Road is housed in a separate structure at the front of the property, which is very visible to passersby.
The different sets of stackable compartments for room-temperature, refrigerated, and frozen products are unique to their vending machine.
The entirety of the frozen section’s cubbies has been installed within a professional freezer. The cubbies on the right are packed with egg cartons and flats, while the vending machine on the left has jam and juice at room temperature.
Innovend designs and manufactures them in Europe. The devices have been used for years and are even built to hold hot meals.
The Maljaars purchased their equipment last summer from AgPro West Supply in Abbotsford. The system is entirely internet-based, and all programming upgrades are performed remotely.
The instructions for using the vending machine are located next to the touch panel where all goods are shown. People choose the items they like and can even select a compartment if, for instance, they prefer the appearance of one carton of eggs over another, and then tap their credit card.
